Hello Preston!

deadcatcauldron_A4 (425 x 600)After a successful outing at  Tringe Festival 2013, Dead Cat returns to Preston with a brand new monthly show. Dead Cat Comedy Cauldron will run on 2nd Tuesday of the month at Korova Arts Café. Preston? Why Preston? Preston is one of our favourite places to perform, with a booming student population and an astounding city-wide sense of humour, Dead Cat proudly claims Preston as its second city. Shows will be organised in association with the good people at Project Korova who we have worked with for many years. Korova help coordinate Preston’s annual Tringe Festival as well as promote and support new artists from musicians to magicians and many more.

We’re really excited, not only to work with great people, but to work with a great venue. Korova Arts Café is one of the finest venues we’ve seen. Downstairs, a delightfully calm and cosy café peddling everything from cupcakes to bottled beer. Upstairs, an intimate and atmospheric studio space perfect for our unique brand of lo-fi comedy magic.

These shows will be slightly different to Dead Cat Comedy Club. Firstly, each show will be hosted by Preston’s prodigal son Freddy Quinne. Freddy is one of our favourite acts to work with. Not only is he a right funny fucker but he’s also Award-Winning: Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year, Kettle Comedy Comedian of the Year. Also, Red Redmond will be popping down to try-out brand new material every month! And, as if that wasn’t enough, we’re going to be pairing them up with some of the hottest comedy talent UK has to offer…

Another stellar line-up! Sharing the stage with Red and Freddy this month will be Lewis Charleworth and Richard Massara, two dynamite acts that never fail to impress. Lewis is a larger than life presence on stage, a joy to watch and a master of both stand-up and sketch comedy. Richard is an equally engaging act, drawing on more depraved and sordid subjects than most, he has just returned from a packed-out run at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival. Individually, these are impressively talented comedians. Together, this is a Godlike line-up that is so powerful it could destroy the very fabric of time and space.
